Biographie
Amany Abdelrazek was born in Egypt, where she earned her bachelor's degree in English language and literature from Tanta University in 2003. She got her Master's degree in English literature and culture from Postadam Universität in Germany in 2015. Her Master's thesis, " Religion in a Secular Age: The Case of Tunisia", is a critique of the narrative of universal rational modernity. She earned her doctoral degree from the Freie Universität zu Berlin in Germany.
Her doctoral dissertation, "The Politics of Engagement: Egyptian Muslim Women, Modernity and Fashion ", follows the impact of consumer culture on challenging gendered and class borders in Muslim societies and the imagined cultural frontiers between modest traditional Muslim culture and materialist modern Western culture.
