The environment is expensive and a hurdle to India’s ambitious dream to be a developed economy from a growing economy .To protect an environment, many ambitious projects which could change the course of the Indian economy could come to a standstill. In its attempt to solve the issue of climate change, India is doing its best as it can, even though it’s the 5th largest economy in the world in terms of GDP ;its priority being other economic and social issues to boost the Indian economy. As a result all large Indian cities are one of the most polluted cities in the world, New Delhi being the most polluted city in the world with an AQI of 900.This essay will analyse how India is failing to respond to climate change and whether it has the means to address it by looking at the Paris accords as well as other sources pertaining to India’s economic growth and how the Indian government should change its priorities more towards improving the climate.
