Welcome to Geology Adventures 2007. Our tour will have five stops showing three different types of geological features. These will include a volcano or volcanic activity, a coastal feature and a ground water feature. At each stop, a brief description will be given on the features regarding how it was formed, the characteristics it has, interesting facts, myths, natural or recreational opportunities and any special precautions that are necessary. The itinerary for this tour will begin in Kilauea, Hawaii; then moves onto Panama City Beach, Florida; and finally ending our tour at Yellowstone National Park’s Old Faithful geyser.

Zusammenfassung der Kapitel (Chapter Summaries)
Volcanoes and Volcanic Activity
The text begins with a discussion of volcanoes and volcanic activity, focusing on Kilauea, Hawaii, as a prime example. It describes Kilauea's continuous eruptions since 1983, the formation of the Hawaiian Islands through volcanic activity, and the different types of lava flows. The text also explores the beneficial and harmful effects of volcanic eruptions, including the creation of fertile soil and the potential for property damage.
Coastal Features
The text moves on to coastal features, using Panama City Beach, Florida, as an example. It discusses the formation of beaches and coastal landscapes, the unique characteristics of Panama City Beach, and the recreational opportunities it offers. The text also highlights the importance of understanding coastal processes to manage and protect these valuable environments.
Groundwater Features
The final section of the text focuses on groundwater features, using Yellowstone National Park's Old Faithful geyser as an example. It describes the formation of geysers, the unique characteristics of Old Faithful, and the importance of understanding groundwater resources. The text also explores the potential for geothermal energy and the need to protect groundwater sources.
