This essay will explore the nature of the different learning environments experienced in a Secondary School within an international school setting, where you have students from different cultures studying either the Middle Years Programme (MYP) or their General Certificate in Secondary Education (GCSE) or IB Diploma Programme (DP). Understanding that learning environments can promote inquiry-based learning and high-level order thinking, whilst allowing students to engage in a collaborative and cooperative environment where they are using their critical thinking skills constantly, is imperative.
Allowing students to be actively engaged in lessons requires each individual educator to plan accordingly to their student's specific and educational needs, whilst creating a safe and stimulating learning environment for them to flourish and excel.
